How to Survive the First Year of Marriage, According to Jim and Elizabeth Carroll From Marriage Boot
If you’ve seen any episode of We’s totally addictive Bridezillas, then no doubt you’ve thought, as I have many a time, “Yikes, how is THAT marriage going to last?” Well, surprise, surprise, many of the couples on the show find themselves a year in and suffering some problems. Enter Marriage Boot Camp: Bridezillas, which airs on Fridays at 9/8 P.M. The show puts five Bridezillas and their husbands in a house together for an extreme boot camp to work out their marriage issues with husband-and-wife counseling team Jim and Elizabeth Carroll.
Though I doubt any of you are Bridezilla-level cray, I thought Jim and Elizabeth could share some of their relationship wisdom. Behold:
Fashion Series – Fun Casual
In this household – we LOVE fun fashion. We love bold colors and putting things together that aren’t the most obvious.
Whether your style is chic summer dresses or styling sweat pants for a night out – check out these fun outfits!

Fashion Series – Business Casual
Hey all! We get SO many questions about what we’re wearing on the show – so we’re going to do a couple of posts on some of our favorite outfits right now. We got to work with the most amazing photographer on this project – Nicholas Laning and his new fiancé (WOO HOO!) Hannah McLemore. You guys seriously need to use them – http://laningphotography.com
As many of you know – one of my PASSIONS is socially conscious purchasing. These outfits highlight two of my favorite brands:
Ankura Brand: These are SUCH comfortable dresses guys. The fabric is unreal. Everything is made by Peruvian artisans. This brand is known for paying fair wages and giving back to the community in any way they can.
Starfish Project: So fun story – I (Ilsa) actually know these ladies and have worked with them personally. When I lived in Beijing I would hang out once a week with the ladies coming out of human trafficking situations. We would visit brothels and make friends with some of the most wonderful and interesting women from all ages. Of course, these women came from some really tough backgrounds – but what a joy to so easily find friendship and common ground. This is one of the things I miss most about living in China.
Enjoy!
